Believing in Jesus and following Jesus are two very different things. How can we say we believe in Jesus if our lives don’t even look like we do? How do we move from being believers to being fully-devoted disciples of Jesus Christ? That’s the focus of this new series, Kingdom. As we grab this call to discipleship, extraordinary things start to happen. In fact, we believe being a disciple means you can have greater creativity, healthier teams in your life, a renewed passion, internal peace, and increased clarity in hearing God’s voice. And we do all of this, ultimately, so that God’s presence would be on earth, as it is in heaven.
A lot goes into a great meal. There are quality ingredients and the way they work together to create amazing flavours. Then there are the ways the meal is prepared and presented. Don’t forget who is sitting around the table. All of these combine to create a great meal. Following Jesus is similar. it starts with key ingredients/qualities, it understands the way character is created, presents well and has good people around it.
Everywhere we turn, there seems to be conflict and arguing. Sports shows and news programs are a constant rotation of talking heads yelling at one another. However, for those of us who grew up around the church, there seems to be a culture of avoiding the hard conversations. And yet a closer read of the early church shows a group of people in constant conflict with one another. The surprising thing is that there doesn’t seem to be grudges or backstabbing. No, their arguments had the opposite effect; they brought the believers together and moved the early movement of Christianity forward. They learned how to argue well.
We’ve all had or will have experiences that confirm that life can be tough, but have you ever noticed how some people are able to bounce back from the setbacks they experience? What’s their secret? For almost everyone, it all comes down to one word: resilience. In our series “Grit”, we’re going to focus on becoming the kind of people who can get through difficult experiences with a sense of hope, by building our resilience. We’ll talk about what resilience is, and what it has to do with God, others, and our view of ourselves. By the end of this series, our hope is, we’ll be better equipped to discover how hope changes everything.
Our heart is the command-centre of our lives; everything we do and think flows from what is in it. As we grow older, we experience new things, gain new habits, hang with new friends, and live in new environments, and without realising, we’ve given these things the key to our hearts. Through this series, Heartstrings, we’ll explore the matters of the heart and how it affects our lives. We’ll be challenged to search our hearts and stop chasing the feelings of this world. Ultimately, as we allow God to refine our hearts, we’ll discover and, in turn, gain the desires of His heart.

High school is a time of great uncertainty, and everyone seems to be debating what they are going to do next. What do I want to do when I grow up? I don’t know. Should I do chemistry or physics next term? Not sure. Do I like going to youth every Friday? I guess. Life is moving faster than ever before. Students are making big decisions about their futures but still struggling with internal doubts about which direction to take. It seems that in every high school, students are being tossed about by the wind and waves of life. However, there is a letter to early Christians written by Jesus' brother that speaks to people in that place of uncertainty. In this series, students will be assured that God has a plan for their future and challenged to fix their eyes on Jesus and keep running the good race.
We all have one thing in common: We want to be seen, known, and valued for who they are. We don’t want fake relationships; they want personal ones. In this series, we’ll be looking Jesus and His interactions with Zacchaeus. We’ll see five ways Jesus made it personal and what that means for our lives. We’re taking a cue from the way Jesus did it to give students an idea of just how to make everything—including their relationship with Him—a little more personal.
What does it look like to step through the doors of destiny; to live the life we were called to live? In this series, we step into those very doors to discover what it truly means to live a life that fearlessly reveals Jesus to the world.
Jesus Himself says that loving God and loving our neighbours as ourselves are the most important commandments (Matt 22:40). But what is love and how do we know what it looks like? In this series, we will study key scriptures to discover what the biblical image of love looks like and how we can best apply these principles in our lives.
Lies tend to blind people from being fully convinced of who they are in Christ. Lies distort our perception of the Father, and even how we see ourselves. "The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy” us (John 10:10), because he’s afraid that when we find out who we are and start stepping into our God-given purpose, he knows we’ll be unstoppable. So, let’s say goodbye to the enemy’s lies, and invite God’s truth to transform our lives.
